The day the first seats are ripped up in an English stadium and replaced with terracing will be a fantastic day for all true supporters.
Fulham 2 Blackburn Rovers 1 2000 - I'm a Chelsea fan, but my Dad decided to take my six year-old self to Fulham against Blackburn Rovers in the old Division One. Fulham had a cracking team and won the league that year. They were captained by Chris Coleman, had Steve Finnan at right-back, Luis Boa Morte, Lee Clark and, of course, the great Louis Saha. Blackburn took the lead through Jason Koumas, but an excellent Fabrice Fernandes equaliser and a Saha penalty gave the Whites the three points.
Chelsea 2 Spurs 1 - It was the first game after the great Peter Osgood died - he was the best Chelsea player before the Abramovich-era. There was an emotional atmosphere and the 'Born is the King of Stamford Bridge' rang around the ground. We dominated the first half, with Michael Essien scoring his first goal for the club. Jermaine Jenas equalised on 45 against the run of play. We banged on the door all second half until, in the 93rd minute, a William Gallas screamer gave us the points. We stayed in the ground for at least 20 minutes after the game.
Fulham 0 Watford 0 - Doesn't really count, seeing as it was a friendly. It was Fulham's first game back at Craven Cottage after two years groundsharing with QPR. The game was the opposite of intense, Elvis Hammond spooned the only chance over the bar and I vowed never to go to a friendly again.
Stadio San Paolo, Naples - The best atmosphere I've ever seen - it was a 2-0 home win against Atalanta, who were also in mid-league, in April, but the grand old ground was packed. Flares, flags, a great game, huge noise. It had all the ingredients for a great football experience. And, of course, everyone stood up.
King Power Stadium, Leicester - Another one of those boring new stadia where clubs have disregarded any wishes to make the ground interesting for cost reasons. Not a bad atmosphere, but it's a shame so many new stadiums are so dull.
