Blackpool v Sunderland at Bloomfield Road sometime in the early 70's (1973 I think).
Liverpool v Blackpool
Anfield 03 October 2010
2-0 to Blackpool
Married to a Scouser and weaned on football through the Reds glory years of the 70's & 80's.
At that time never in a million years did I ever believe I would see my team play and win at Anfield.
Between 1978 & 2007 there were so many bad games it would be impossible to chose just one.
Collectively that period nearly finished my club off but paradoxically it made the next 3 years so special. Culminating as it did in triumph over Cardiff at Wembley in the Championship play off Final & the first glorious season in the Premier League.
If I had to select on worst game Bradford at home. All true Pool fans share this hurt.
In terms of quality and facilities it is hard to beat but sadly the atmosphere was absolutley terrible. Remember the Arse beat Pool 6-0 but it really was so quiet. From Highbury to Library in one short step. Fortunately 3000 Pool fans showed them how to really support a team.
For atmosphere I really enjoyed Brightons new ground (shame about the name) and their fans created a great atmoshpere.
Do I really need to explain..............
Cold Blow Lane was always a deeply dangerous experience.
