Standard Liege have revealed plans to increase the capacity of the Stade Maurice Dufrasne from 27,500 to 32,000.
The Belgian top flight side have filed for a building permit which they expect to be granted in January, allowing work to commence sometime towards the end of 2020. Work will include the demolition and rebuilding of the ground's oldest stand which will increase capacity by around 4,500 seats.
The work is expected to cost around €80m. The club's average attendance is currently around 23,000. Liege have won the Belgian league 10 times in their history, the last time being back in 2008/2009.
