Sunderland V Oxford at the Stadium of Light on 2nd September 1997. Oxford went ahead with a 30 yard worldy early on but Sunderland went on to win 3-1.
Sunderland 2 - 1 Newcastle. Kieran Richardson free kick. Need I say anymore?
Went away to Preston when we were flying high in the Championship and they were to. I felt good, put a bet on Sunderland to win 4-0. We got battered 4-1 I think it was and they stopped serving beer at half time. Bedlam!
Best atmosphere where we have played away. Sang constantly all day from the train to the tram to the game to the tram and back on the train. Roy Keane songs all day and a Sunderland win to boot. Even took part in a failed world record attempt for most people playing an air guitar.
Epic let down. Really looking forward to sampling this ground and the atmosphere. But it was dead. Really dissapointed.
