the first game i went to finished in a 2-0 win to york over grays athletic at bootham crescent on the 22nd September 2007.
one of the best games i have been to is at blundell park where we played grimsby in march 2012 where we were 1-0 up at half time after jamie reed opened the scoring, we were then 2-0 up around 55 mins when chris smith scored, but grimsby replied twice to make it 2-2 in around the 82nd minute with goals from anthony elding and michael coulson. the mariners thought they had rescued a point but then 3 minutes were added on and we scored a late winner when jamal fyfield broke through the grimsby defence and let a shot go from the edge of the box which skimmed across the fresh surface into the bottom corner, one of the best things i have ever seen sent all us travelling fans home with a smile on our faces.
tamworth away in septemeber 2011 we were beaten 2-1 by a poor tamworth side that had two penalties awarded two them which were very harsh and the ground wasnt too good either with it been an open terrace but fortunately it was a sunny warmish day.
we won promotion to the football league in here on the 20th may 2012 with a 2-1 victory over luton town, best day of my life to date.
the view from the entrance of the away end was about 500 yards of waste land full of rubble and to the left on the hill was a graveyard not the best sight after travelling there from york, the away end is open terracing and very grim with just a little fence seperating opposite fans plus we travelled all that way to see a goalless draw with two of our players being sent off late on.
