yankee-groundhopper has rated Stadio Gran Sasso dItalia 4.0 out of 5.
L'Aquila is a lovely city of about 80,000 people surrounded by mountains in a less-visited area of Italy called Abruzzo. The club, which once played in Serie B, has a nice little ground in town, with a 3G pitch and good seats and views. Both side stands have roofs, and the view beyond the one goal is spectacular. Not much for facilities, food, drink, etc. Still a fun day out in a beautiful area with few tourists!
15-minute walk from the town center.
Plastic seats, plenty of legroom.
One small "bar" with snacks and coffee and beer.
Only saw a few
For a small crowd in the fifth tier, these Italians get riled up. My match had a terrible referee who almost screwed the home side with a cheap red card, but they snatched a point at the end.
