"A Black Country home"

has rated Fellows Park 2.0 out of 5.

wonderwasp's review of Fellows Park

Fellows Park was, frankly, ugly, but it had bags of character. A strange hotchpotch of different sized roofs and an away end that backed onto the railway line, the ground had an air of menace about it that those Yam Yam local accents did nothing to relieve.

Location

A bit out of town, but not so far out as its replacement which is as near as damn it on the M6.

View

Comfortable? No. The grandstand was a small wooden thing that looked like it was built from the wreckage of a nasty accident. The view was OK, though.

Food & Drink

Police & Stewards

Since the Walsall skinheads and hooligans always seemed ready to dish out some fist I was always reassured to see policemen and women about the place.

Atmosphere

For the Saddlers, great. For visiting fans, a bit too nerve-tingling.
