walkerboii's review of Etihad Stadium

I went to the Etihad Stadium for Manchester City v Queens Park Rangers on 13-05-12 on the day where City had to win for the Premier League title and QPR needed a point to stay up. City won 3-2 thanks to a 94th minute winner from Sergio Aguero but QPR stayed up anyway due to Bolton not winning.

This is easily my best ever away day with QPR - good journey, god home fans, nice weather, decent programe - overall I look forward to our visit there next season.

Location

Once you get in to Manchester the ground is clearly signposted but some of the signs aren't straightforward - the main road leading to the ground is long but once you get down it the ground is easy to spot - if you get stuck then follow the City fans

View

Outstanding - we were in Row B in the lower tier so we were level with the pitch but still a fantastic view. We travelled up there with some friends who were sitting in the upper tier (row B as well) and they showed me a picture of their view when we met up after the game and their view was amazing so from what I can tell - you get an amazing view wherever you sit (unless you get a tall person sitting directly in front of you)

Facilities

Overall the toilets were standard - clean but the towels ran out

Food & Drink

I got a pie in the ground and it was one of the best I've ever tasted at a football match and they were a decent size. At £2.40 I recomend it highly

Police & Stewards

Some of the best around - they let us stand during the game, share banter with the City fans and at half time I was talking to 3 of them about our respective seasons and they were more than hapy to talk to me plus at ful time they allowed QPR fans to go in to the City fans to congratulate them on winning the title and allowed City fans to come in to our end to congratulate us on staying up

Atmosphere

Since what was at stake for Manchester City I was disappointed with how quiet they were - apart from Blue Moon there was no singing till Aguero struck home the winner. QPR fans were singing throughout.
