"Steady progress"

has rated The Crown Ground 4.0 out of 5.

trebor's review of The Crown Ground

Stanley from the outside look like a progressive club that takes its limitations into account;
Three stands have been improved with the main stand developing it's corporate facilities as I visited.
Two terraces one uncovered, home end is now all terraced.

Location

Along The Whalley Road with access through the Crown Inn Car Park that has a Bus Stop. Bus No 7 towards and No 6 return to Bus Station that's 5 minutes from Accrington Train Station, this has regular from the ECML at York and WCML at Preston.

View

Home Terrace; A modern terrace that's ripped out the seats and has plenty of barriers to lean on, good views.

Facilities

Quite small and round the back of the stand, portaloos are outside turnstiles.

Food & Drink

Proper Pies and good beer reasonably priced at ground. If you are at the Crown Inn side it would be feasible to pop for a pint at half-time. Beer Tent also available for both sides

Police & Stewards

Don't need to do much as Accy fans are there to watch the game away seats are so close to home fans you'll possibly be sat next to one.

Atmosphere

Football is the reason there attending and support a steady and cautious progressive club that's achieving a level that far bigger sides can only dream of. So stuff all the booing after a defeat and calls for the manager and boards to ''get out'. Decent drummer.' Away end is open so sound isn't kept in, or they were just quiet.
