trebor has rated The Airfield 2.5 out of 5.
Ground is part of the Airbus factories sports facility as the club was a former works team. The stadium is dominated by its hosts, a runway to the rear of the stand and huge buildings around. But the link with a company of this size has provided a high standard of facilities which include a new clubhouse facility that houses a bar and staff welfare areas like fitness suites.
The runway is very close and if The Beluga is visiting should provide quite a sight.
Industrial but interesting if you like planes, a few light aircraft take-off during the match.
Buses No 4 & 4X run from Chester to Mold every half hour and take 30 minutes from Chester Railway station.
Exit after the retail park at stop near to Factory entrance.
Nothing amenity wise that's independent of the Clubhouse unless you fancy whats in Broughton Retail Park.
Comfy and spaced out seats spoilt by the safety nets draped over parts of the seated stands give a horrible view. Don't know why they do this as you are at a football match and its expected that balls might fly into the stands now and again.
Indoor toilets in changing rooms undercover clean and modern with hot water and soap, more in new clubhouse by the main entrance.
Didn't try the new facility which looks plush the pitchside area was sufficient for this level with decent but basic food offered at a good price.
They are fans of the club at this level, so one decided to deride the ref a few times like fans do.
Other than chats among backers of both clubs playing it was pretty dull as was the game. The aircraft provided a distraction a few times.
