trebor has rated Surrey Street 2.0 out of 5.
A scruffy ground that is sufficient for the level but will need improvements if they are to move up. Astonishingly they have been in England's top division albeit 100 years ago.
One seated stand with three rows of plastic seats and a wooden bench at the back. two sides have standing with some cover.
Easy 10 minute walk from station, that's 30 minutes from Manchester;
Head out, turn right or left and head west and walk along Surrey Street, this is the only entrance. Car Parking appeared to be on street, Wickes Stores on the South Side has a decent size one.
The shelter provided from the weather was the only decent factor. It looked scruffy with plenty of posts the seats are close together and the back row is a wooden bench that's not comfortable, the view is of two thirds of the pitch. The rest of the ground is standing with small steps and some cover view isn't great from them either.
Didn't use the clubhouse so cannot comment on those but the ones located next to the changing rooms were dirty and cramped with no hot water or hand drying facilities. It looked as though it had extensively used for last nights New Years Party or the one before.
Beer available, not a great choice and some in cans, normal choice and can be consumed in stands, but queues are slow with many just standing drinking their pints while queuing for the next.
As its voluntary its good they take their time to support the club.
OK a larger than usual crowd with a decent away following boosted by it being New Years day by about usual numbers, some topping up from last night.
