trebor has rated Globe Arena 3.0 out of 5.
Despite the weather I like days by the seaside. The weather for some reason lifted during the 90 minutes but blowed snow all round the stadium at the intervals and full time, needless to say when you needed to break cover you got the full blast.
Stadium is fine, even the uncovered terrace would be pleasant on a warmer day.
It's small but adequate for Morecambe.
Morecambe is small town out on a limb a bit and suffers from it. In hindsight if the area around the Train Station was being redeveloped at the time the ground was built locating it their may have been better.
Although if you live in Morecambe or are staying in the nearby Caravan Parks it's ideal.
There is one Pub at ground entrance and very little nearby, the road leading from the seafront to the ground looks a bit desperate with about one pub on it around 3/4 mile off the stadium.
In holiday season the area would be excellent base for a weekend, views of Scafell Pike and a decent walk along the promenade is possible from station.
Their is an indoor Market by Morecambe's Train Station --sadly the quotes along the walking route in the pavement are upside down--
Bus Stop outside Aldis: Buses 6 & 6A every half hour. Trains are not at regular intervals too Sadly a Bus at 16:45 to catch a train at 17:07 is not really doable. Apparently you can get one from/to Lancaster for main line trains
Cannot fault it but the Weathers not the fault of the club. Even with windshields and a full roof the wind still cut through you and Snow reached the back of the terraces. Plenty of room and the choice of seats or standing. Oddly the away terrace was closed so away fans stand in the seated area.
Would of got more points had they had hats for sale on a bitter day
Round the back of the terrace, Hot water good driers( Kids used them to keep warm) but you will get wet as they require a walk with no cover.
Morecambe's small crowd means you should never get stuck in a queue
Legendary pies with Mushy Peas & Gravy. Bit overrated but for a Football Ground they are fine -But don't have the gravy( which is not great) if you have only got two hands and other stuff to carry, it goes everywhere--.
If I go again it'll be just Peas added. All drinks served quickly, and hot, Bovril tasted good.
Big minus point if you want a pint at the terraced area there isn't any cover.
No Police, but they could open earlier on days with bad weather so early arrivals can shelter
Didn't have any singing, just a sad old git abusing the linesman and not watching any of the match.
Like a park game. At least no crap copycat songs they tried them but nobody followed suit
