trebor's review of Bloomfield Road

If you are going, try and do it during the Spring Late Summer seasons. Blackpool is a Stadium visit that can include so much more apart from the Football itself. Go in January everything appears shut include fog and rain and the place is miserable.
One bonus of going then is you will have ample parking or plenty of room on the train.

Location

Not in a Great part of Blackpool but within easy waking distance from Blackpool South Train Station.
Head out the station and either turn right into the Car park or cross over the Bridge and head directly North until you reach the ground in about 500 meters. The whole route is a massive Car Park from Station to Stadium.
Alternatively take a left out the Station walk to the roundabout, make a right and you will have a choice of Pubs, Cafes,, Chippies and Burger Bars etc. Walk about 500m and you will reach a Church and turn right there is a large Working Mens Club along the road.
You will never be to far from the sea on your left.
There is a massive Pay & Display Car Park for those driving.

View

First three rows get wet which is annoying for newly built stands. Quite a bit of room and excellent views.

Facilities

A small home crowd meant that they weren\'t busy and coped.
No hot water though. NEW STAND why not?

Food & Drink

Proper Tetley\'s again. You pay premium at Football Stadiums yet they will not make it for you other than put the water in. Unlike Preston who do.

Police & Stewards

There help consisted of pointing in the Sky when customers asked where their seat was, A Cup game meant fans were not in their usual place. They could have shown where the seat was more accurately it wasn't busy,
They could have offered the plenty of empty seats towards the Corner.

Atmosphere

Blackpool fans were outnumbered 2-1 by Barnsley, yet Barnsley were not very loud or original, even When the Reds come marching in. couldn't they have at least swapped Reds for Tykes ?
Considering away fans tend to be louder than home they were not that much better than the home.
