Overall it wasnt the best day due to poor facilities and more importanty a 3-1 loss. However had the outcome been different i feel i would have enjoyed it more and i am still happy to experience an away day at southend!
Parking was hard to find but we found a car park 10 minute walking distance from the ground which set us back £3.There is a train station near the ground however this did not affect us as we drove.
Seats were pretty standard with not a great deal of room, but we just stood for the whole game. View was not the greatest but could be worse.
There were 3 urinals and 2 toliets for the 1384 travelling Charlton so as you could imagine there was a long queue. The facilities were poor but we expected this considering how old the ground is.
Food was nice, reasonably priced and had a ecent slection. However, queues were long and it took a long time to get served.
A fair amount of police for the accasion and i wasnt aware of any trouble at the game.
Support was good from both sides. Charlton outsang Southend for the build up and first few minutes however were not as loud as they could following two early goals and a poor first half performance.
