"Great example of Colliery Welfare Ground"

has rated Billy Hardy Complex 3.5 out of 5.

the-cragheadian's review of Billy Hardy Complex

The Billy Hardy Sports Complex, former Hylton Colliery Welfare is an excellent example of the colliery welfare facilities provided for their communities by miners in the first half of the 20th century. Football and cricket on adjacent pitches with a bowling green and social club. It even has the traditional fencing.
