"In a state of disrepair!"

stuff10's review of Gay Meadow

I visited Gay Meadow with Scunthorpe on the last day of the 2004/2005 to watch Scunny clinch promotion. I was impressed with Shrewsbury as a town (having never been there before), but Gay Meadow really was in dire need of replacing.
Three sides of the ground were terracing, meaning us shorter people had trouble seeing anything - especially when the ball was down at the other end of the pitch!

Location

Seemed to be fairly centre tho Shrewsbury with some pubs en-route. Parking was dead easy.

View

Terracing.

Facilities

Very old and very poor.

Police & Stewards

No real problems.

Atmosphere

Maybe it was the nerves of the Scunny fans, but the atmosphere was very poor for such a vital game.
