Enjoyable evening at Abbey Hey. Facilities are what you would expect at this level but the ground is in a tidy shape. No programme issued for the friendly I went to, but advised at the gate that they do produce one for league games.
10 minute walk from Ryder Brow railway station which is approx a 10 minute journey from Manchester Piccadilly. Seemed to be plenty of parking for this level.
Hard/concrete standing all around the ground. Some covered bench seating and standing area on the halfway line.
Warm welcome in the club house. This is above the changing rooms so provides a nice view of the pitch. Food was limited to some tasty hot pies and crisps. A pint of Boddingtons was a reasonable £2.60 with lager and soft drinks also available.
I didn't spot any pubs on the walk up to the ground, but there was a newsagent / off licence.
A crowd of 80 to 100 for a pre season game did not generate much of an buzz but was a friendly enough atmosphere.
