smithybridge-blue has rated Valley Parade 4.0 out of 5.
Two massive structures, a medium sized stand and a small double-decker construction from times past gives this stadium a rather lop sided effect but the ground has a character rare in today's modern facilities.
A short 15-20 minute walk from the cenrally located railway station. Hard to find by car even though it is located faily close to the centre of Bradford because, as the name suggests, it is situated in a valley. the main problem is, unless you have a map or a Sat-Nav, the brown football stadium signs from the M62/M602 mysteriously disappear once you get close to the centre of Bradford. Street parking can be found within a short walking distance of the ground, but this area of Bradford is not the most celubrious.
The huge steeply banked Main Stand and The Kop offers fantastic vantage points above the playing area. The smaller Midland Road Stand still offers good views but the bottom tier of the double-decked Bradford End could be better.
As befits the better days of the Premier/Championship days, the facilities are above the usual standards of the Football League. Food/Drink kiosks, (old) TVs, clean toilets and betting facilities.
The usual premium priced standard fayre.
Not highly noticeable both inside and outside the ground. For larger aaway followings, the police block off the routes towards the away supporters.
Bradford fans big in numbers and highly vociferous which, along with the big structures of the stands, lends itself to a good atmosphere for the big match.
