smithybridge-blue has rated Turf Moor 3.5 out of 5.
Even before the two newer stands (The James Hargreaves Stand and The Jimmy McIlroy Stand) were constructed, Turf Moor always had a good atmosphere created by their very loyal fans. Even though the two older stands (The Bob Lord Stand and The Cricket Field Stand) have not been updated for many a year, they are still not out of place in the whole feel of the stadium, and this place is a great mix of the old and the new.
Located within a short walk of the Town Centre. Easy to get to and away from by car.
All the stands are steeply banked and there is good viewing of the playing area from all the stands.
TV's, Betting Facilities, Food and Drink outlets and toilets freely available on concourses.
No draught beers, only cans of Bitter (£3) and Guinness (£3.40) and plastic bottles of lager (£3.20). Food at Premier League prices, pies (£2.50), Hot Dogs (£2), chocolate bars (£1).
Police dotted around the ground in small groups. No issues with stewards.
Used to be better before all seating came along. Home fans only appear to react when they've scored or are on top. Generally, a good atmosphere if there is a sizeable following of away fans as they are all housed together in their own stand which is old, dark and dismal (the best type of stand to create some noise).
