smithybridge-blue has rated The Liberty Stadium 2.5 out of 5.
Like Scunthorpe, Southampton, Middlesborough, Doncaster etc. yet another basic, soulless and unimaginative construstion that serves its purpose.
Located on the Neath Road (Bypass) on entering the central part of Swansea. Some side street parking can be found further past the stadium along the Neath Road. The Smiths public house is worth a visit on the Neath Road which serves decently priced food (such as burgers/chips and curries) and well kept ales. Away fans welcome as long as they show some respect.
View is fairly good from the upper blocks to the rear of the stands.
The usual food/drink kiosks, and TVs showing football. Toilets are all cubicles - no latrines.
The usual premium priced offerings.
Noticable police presence both inside and outside the ground. Police constantly using hand-held surveillance cameras. Stewards searches on entry prior to going in through the turnstiles excessively thorough to say the least. Big lines of police on guard on exit after the game.
Swansea fans sang throughout. The atmosphere OK for the size of the ground.
