Soulless and basic. Not much atmosphere. Stadium is out of town in a wooded area, and not really much to do around the stadium. There are car parks outside the stadium, and as usual in Holland, loads of bikes parked up. Doesn't seem to cater for supporters travelling to and from the town centre. Found it hard work to visit this stadium due to lack of help from the locals.
What an awful place to get to. Getting to Nijmegen by train is no problem but then you must get a bus to the stadium. Checked the bus numbers on the internet but when we found a number 3 bus to the ground the ignorant bus driver told us he didn't go near there and to catch bus No. 308. No such bus! Ended up getting a taxi as we were pushed for time (early 12.30pm kick off), which ate more into our budget than we bargained for. After the game found a bus-stop that buses stopped at for the Station but had to wait ages for the bus - then it went round the houses!
Although it is only a relatively small stadium, you get a decent view as the stands are raised above pitch level which you go up steps at the front to enter.
Clean and freely available toilets.
Buy Munten (tokens) from the machine (no minimum). To get quick service you need to get your food and drink whilst the game is in progress, otherwise it gets really busy at half-time and there is no queueing system - it's every man for himself. Unfortunately, you can't see the game in progress whilst you are queueing. Although the outlets are placed at the front of the stands, they are below pitch level, and there is a 10ft wall between you and the pitch.
Helpful.
Nothing to shout about as there isn't much shouting going on. There's a singing section in the corner behind the goals in the Goffert tribune. They make an effort but it is nothing more than subdued.
