"Fortunate mistake"

Moors were due to play Tamworth on New Year's day 2025 until both sides agreed to bring the fixture forward 24 hours. Unfortunately they hadn't realised that Tuesday was not a bank holiday and changing back was not sanctioned. However a 3pm kick off on a normal working day proved to be a blessing in disguise as 2797 attended over a 1000 above the seasons best. Of course there were no other pro games that day so the crowd was swelled by other club followers and a big influx of ground hoppers. Perhaps a good reason to stagger fixtures across a weekend

Location

On paper a difficult venue to reach by public transport but it took about 15 mins from Birmingham New Street by train to International Airport and bus 12x direct to was another 12 mins. With connects about 40 mins each way. Ground has no nearby pubs or eateries but club bar / pie shop was passable if a bit uninspiring with choice

Sat in main stand met a lovely old chap and a fellow ground hopper . Views of both goals were good from block B but there was a annoying girder pillar that obscured some midfield play. Also from back row the roof hides the view of aerial action

Nice club shop ....usual reply "no pins they are on order"

Food & Drink

Local pie shop wares also a club sponsor. Beer big Brands Neck Oil etc

Police & Stewards

Low key ...was a police presence in stadium for this local derby v Tamworth but all seemed amiable
