"Proper old school football"

has rated Oriel Park 5.0 out of 5.

seandel's review of Oriel Park

Cards on the table, this is my ‘home’ ground. I’ve probably seen 500 odd games here. It’s dilapidated, in serious need of upgrading with basic facilities and limited capacity. But the place just drips with atmosphere and history. It’s a proper old school football ground in a proper old school football town.

Location

Plenty of on street parking in the vicinity and the train station is all of 3 minutes walk away.

View

The views are atrocious from the away end, by all accounts, and unless you’re within a privileged triangle in the centre of the main stand your view will be obstructed (or severely obstructed) by the side panels of the stand. For the most part views are ok in the home end as long as you don’t mind standing.

Atmosphere

On a good day the atmosphere is electric in the Shed, though the locals have been spoiled in recent years (2013-17) and a certain level of complacency and expectation have set in.
