samwaters has rated The New Meadow 3.0 out of 5.
The facilities at The New Meadow are exceptional, with plenty of parking and plenty of places to grab a bite to eat. The fans inside the stadium are noisy, and the seats are comfortable. I can clearly see that the stadium is worthy of its 4 star UEFA rating.
Despite this, there are several factors that put me off this stadium. Firstly, they sell rollover hot dogs, and other below average food products, on top of this, the roof is angled upwards, this deflects any noise the fans are making out into the open air instead of back into the concourse, reducing the atmosphere. The stands are also slightly shorter than the size of the pitch leaving big gaps in the corners of the stadium, this completely destroys any hope of making the stadium feel intimidating.
Overall, The New Meadow has a very good setup, however, it seems the stadium has been designed for tourists and not for supporters, putting the stadium into the same category as most other modern stadiums. At least it doesnt have a running track!
