samwaters has rated Pride Park 3.5 out of 5.
Pride Park is more than your average modern stadium. Despite containing a Starbucks coffee shop and other various shops around the ground it manages to maintain a good atmosphere inside the ground. The derby fans were very good, and although singing "If you don't bounce then you're a red" is a blatent attempt at acting northern, and trying to copy Sheffield Wednesday's "If you don't bounce then you're a blade". At half time there was a punditry team that came on the big screen and reviewed the first half, although controversially tinpot, this worked well and was the first time I was ever truly entertained by a club during half time. I noticed that plenty of football special shuttle buses were placed outside the ground to allow fans easy access to the stadium, seeing clubs do this more often would be brilliant. The biggest problem with Derby's stadium is that it is copied from the plans of Middlesbrough's stadium, why build a stadium with no identity?
Pride park was a good awayday, had a decent atmosphere and Derby FC appears to be a very well run club. Pride park loses it's rating in the fact that it is not unique, and this goes against strong footballing tradition. Therefore, pride park gets a rating of 3.5/5.
