samstraw has rated Upton Park (Boleyn Ground) 4.0 out of 5.
I have been to Upton Park on two occasions now. I went to watch West Ham vs. Fulham a couple of years ago which ended 1-1 and more recently watched Nottingham Forest play them which ended unfortunately 2-1 to West Ham. On both occasions it has been an enjoyable visit and all the fans are very friendly. The view of the playing action is good and I have sat in two different stands and both of them have had decent views. The fans are very passionate and can get frustrated when the team isn't performing. However, in the Premier League the fans can generate a great atmosphere. Great ground and one I will hope to visit again with Forest in the future.
The location of the ground isn't in the best of places. The tube is always jam packed after the match with queues all the way down the road just to get into the station. The ground isn't located in one of the most attractive places.
The view of the playing action was decent. Comfort was good and you could easily just enjoy the match without having to worry about the view or leg room.
The facilities inside the stadium were very good. It was very clean and all the facilities in the stadium were very modern and it had everything for my needs during the match.
I have been on two occasions now and both times the fans of West Ham have really taken out their frustration on the team. However, when the bubbles anthem blares out before kick-off, the atmosphere can become very intimidating to visitors.
