"better than expected"

A tidy little ground when you consider the team and area. Fans were singing throughout (probably fired up as it was vs England). Main Stand is impressive from outside and in, with executive boxes as well if that's what you like. Compared to San Marino, another ground I've been too and a national team not too dissimilar from Malta, it ranks pretty highly. Whatever stand you're in, they are plenty places to hang flags and the security are happy to help.

Location

Not great to be honest. This is more of a holiday destination than a footballing country so it is to be expected. If you are going for a national game/UEFA game, travel is generally offered by many pubs and restaurants. Travel to and from the ground wasn't an issue, it is only 15 minutes from St George's Bay. A Maltese League game you would have to source your own travel, but the security wouldn't be as tight as it was for an England game so you could leave later.

It is first come first served in terms of seats. I would recommend going towards the back if you want to stand, and sitting in the middle if you prefer to stay seated as people tend to hang flags off the fences in front. View of either end was great.

Facilities

A very clean stadium.

Food & Drink

No alcohol I'm afraid which is always slightly disappointing. I can understand why but you're never going to get any trouble. There are many vending machines which is a very good idea in my opinion, there are just to stop queues.

Police & Stewards

Generally excellent. A friendly welcome, they had a look at my flag, and then helped me fold it back up which never, ever happens anywhere else! The treat football fans like people which is more than I can say for most.

Atmosphere

Again, friendly and vocal. A guy stood at the front with a megaphone getting everyone going, and the fans duly obliging. The main end all have flags which is generally quite overdone but they really got it right this time.
