"How a small ground should be built"

has rated The Pirelli Stadium 4.5 out of 5.

ryantollerfield's review of The Pirelli Stadium

The Pirelli Stadium should be the blueprint for every new non-league ground. Smart, functional, realistic capacity and room to expand if ever needed and first rate facilities. Only Nene Park can compete with the Pirelli at non-league level, and the stadium also puts to shame a lot of established lower league grounds. The ground comprises of 3 sides of modern covered terraces and a slightly larger seated stand which houses executive boxes to to rear.

Location

The ground is located towards the northern edge of Burton, around 20-25 minutes from the train station, but the route is very staight forward - turn left out of the station, then take the first right onto Derby Street. Follow this road straight over a first roundabout, and the ground is directly in front of you as you approach a second roundabout.

View

Execellent views on both of my visits, on the side terrace and in the main stand, no restricted views at all in the ground to worry about.

Facilities

Modern, clean, and of a high standard. You can't really ask for any more can you?

Food & Drink

Good range of food availiable, including my personal favourite, the chip buttie. Prices seemed to be sightly lower than I've come to expect at other league grounds.

Police & Stewards

Didn't even notice they were present.

Atmosphere

Very little atmosphere for the 1st match (FA Trophy 2nd round vs Sailsbury City), but a far better one on my second visit (vs Morecambe - Burton's 1st home game in the Football League). On both occasions the majority of the atmoshere came from the home terrace which included a small array of flags and banners.
