"Most welcoming away ground I've ever been to"

Not one for writing reviews but I was that impressed by the whole experience at the Madejski I wanted to share it

From the moment we arrived there was a friendly atmosphere around the place, the stewards were helpful, the staff in the bars were all kitted out in Wednesday t-shirts, they had Wednesday DVD's on the tellies on the concourse and there were posters welcoming the supporters.

The bars served a wide variety of beers and food which helped due to the lack of pubs withn the vicinity of the ground (although there was a Pizza Hut and McDonalds in the nearby retail park)

We came home with 3 points after a 2-0 victory as well which topped off a great day out.

Great effort to all at Reading FC for all they do for the away supporters

Location

As with most new stadiums they are located for ease of getting to and from the ground. There's no pubs nearby and the town centre is some 3 miles away but getting to and from the ground was very quick

We were on 2nd row from the front in the corner but still had a good view plus the giant screen above us helped when the play was in the far corner

Facilities

Top notch. Very welcoming club who make the effort to make the away supporters feel welcome

Food & Drink

Wide range of draft beers, hot and cold food etc.

Police & Stewards

Stewards outside the ground were helpful and inside the stadium were also very helpful. Whilst the vast majority of supporters were stood an old fella in front of us was sat and couldn't see because the stewards were stood to observe the crowd. He asked a supervisor if the steward would mind sitting down and common sense prevailed

Atmosphere

The most passionate home supporters are in the corner of the stand adjoining the stand where the away supporters are, this made for a great atmosphere without any hostility but the obvious banter between the two sets of fans. The ground wasn't that full but there was a good atmosphere even towards the end when Reading were on their way to a 2-0 defeat WAWAW
