"Not a bad day out"

has rated Goodison Park 3.0 out of 5.

roverchris' review of Goodison Park

All in all it's not a bad ground to visit and I'd recommend going if you've never been before go soon though cos you might not get the chance to if they ever build there new stadium.

Location

The ground is in an easy place to get to. I've not yet been there by car so can't really say much about parking etc but to get there by train is really simple. Kirkdale Train Station is only about a mile or so from the ground and is an easy walk, there are a lot of Everton fans that walk along different routes to the ground so either follow some of them or find a certain way to go which is what I did and I found it easy to follow and didn't get lost.

View

I was given a seat right at the front (row 3) so the view wasn't bad just you couldn't see a lot of what was going on on the other side of the pitch! Plus I didn't care for there being Everton fans in wheelchairs in front of the away fans - a bit daft putting them there. A lot of fans have said that if you get a seat right near the back of the stands then the roof will obstruct your view of the game.

Facilities

Facilities in the ground are really small and old but relatively clean and they did do what they were meant for peeing in so can't complain to much about them.

Food & Drink

I didn't buy anything when I went to the ground however the kiosks are very small so there was big queues waiting to be served. Don't buy that Chang beer unless you really like it I've not tried it myself but loads were saying it was rubbish and there's loads of other fans from different clubs say it's rubbish too.

Police & Stewards

Seemed fine to me both to be honest there were a few scuffs with some fans but you get that sometimes. Stewards are always more aggressive to away fans I've found since going to away games they only ever seem to have a go at them more than the home fans well that's my opinion.

Atmosphere

I'm giving it 5 stars for our (Rovers) fans, the Everton fans were rubbish at singing they didn't sing anything until they got the first goal even then they kept quite till they scored again, but our fans kept on singing all through the game. So away fans can really make the atmosphere great if they sing along.
