I visited Glanford Park for Scunthorpe's 1-0 victory over Swansea. The ground is located next to a retail park by the side of the motorway, which comes in very useful if you're looking for something to do prior to Kick-off. A 2 minute walk from the away end you'll find a KFC, McDonalds, Pizza Hut and two pubs.
The ground itself was is very plain, very simple and won't be winning any beauty pageants in the near future. The stadium has three stands and a terrace, all one-tiered. You'll struggle to find any individuality in the stadium other than its terrace behind one of the goals, which by now is the only one in the top two tiers of English football.
Not a great ground.
Standing within spitting distance of the motorway, it's very easy to find. With a retail park across the road from the ground, there are plenty of places to eat and drink, including pubs, KFC, Pizza Hut, McDonalds and a Tesco.
Glanford Park is surrounded by car parks.
The ground's located outside the town centre, so it's quite far from the train station.
The stands are all very low, so you get a very flat view of the play. Also supporting pillars are likely to block your view.
I've suffered far worse leg-room.
The concourse is very small and the toilets are slightly dingy.
The usual.
Very helpful and attentive on our visit.
The low roof allows for a good atmosphere in the away end.
But if you expect good singing from the Scunthorpe fans I'm sorry to disappoint you. Very quiet fans, even after they took the lead, despite there being very few empty seats.
