pletch99 has rated Trinity Health Stadium 4.0 out of 5.
The Trinity Health Stadium was originally built for High School football, but was completely refurbished and turned into a soccer ground by the local authority when the Hartford Athletic started life in 2018.
It's quite a basic facility - a turf pitch with bleacher seating down both sides, although one side has a central section of seats with backs giving it a capacity of 5,500.
However, Hartford make good use of the ends at one end there is a building which contains the dressing rooms and a pizza rstaurante. There is also a large electronic score board at then end.
Behind both goals Hartford use a mix of picnic tables and parasols to create a beer garden effect.
Hartford get decent crowds with some games selling out and the local supporters group bring drums, flags and other instruments to create a vibrant atmosphere.
The ground is located on the river about 15 minutes walk from downtown Hartford. There is plenty of parking around the ground priced at $10.
I had a backed seat on one side and the view of the game was excellent.
The ground is basic, but Hartford make good use of what is available to create a nice gameday atmosphere.
Compared to an English lower league ground the range of food and drink on offer is huge. The ground has a pizza cafe on site and on game day a number of food trucks and bars are parked up inside the ground. The food on offer is a bit pricy but the quality is excellent. Length of queues at half time varied quite a lot, although the pizza place was very popular.
The staff were friendly and entry to the ground was efficient despite having airport style security. Anyone visiting should check the website for the rules around what you are allowed to take in, they are quite strict.
The supporters group kept the drumming and music up through most of the game. The atmosphere is reduced compared to European games as there are rarely more than a handful of away fans due to the size of the USA. On my visit Hartford were well beaten by the visiting Sacramento side which probably didn't help the atmosphere.
