max54 has rated Horsfall Stadium 2.0 out of 5.
As you would expect with what is essentially an athletics stadium the ground is a bit of a hotchpotch. It needs a good tidy up. Lots equipment and barriers around the stadium.
On the plus side there is an official club shop as well as another outlet selling numerous old programmes, books and with a large selection of badges. Very friendly staff.
Parking seems to be an issue. You have to squeeze into space in local streets. In the event of a big crowd it would be a nightmare. If visiting try to get there early.
Good view from the one and only covered stand. There is terracing at each end of the large seating area. However access is restricted to just one side of the ground. In my opinion this affects the atmosphere of the stadium.
Limited toilet facilities for such a large crowd.
Long queues at the one and only food/hot drink outlet in the bar area. This situation really does need to improve.
Police not evident but stewards stopped spectators standing by the pitch side barrier along the main stand area. However, despite the notice 'no standing' spectators were not removed from the terrace area.
With only one (covered) side being used the atmosphere suffered. Three quarters of the ground is open.
