loveanewground has rated Hargrave Park 2.0 out of 5.
Ground no. 319 on this site. Stansted v Great Wakering Rovers, Senior League. 1-2. A midweek game in November 2017. Quite a mild night, very windy with leaves all over the pitch. This is a very basic ground which is 3 sided as shared with the cricket club. The small stand and committee room in the ground look ancient but there is modern clubhouse outside the ground. Assume club could never get the ground gradin to go higher. One claim to fame is that Dwight Gayle started his career here. Great value though as adult admission was £5 including a program with under 14's free.
Just off main road through Stansted so very easy to find and get to by car. I didn't see the station if there was one.
Old wooden stand extends half the length of the pitch. We preferred to stand up and there's a good view from anywhere.
Had a tea from the tea bar and a beer in the clubhouse, all perfectly ok. Used the toilet in the main clubhouse which was modern and fine.
Didn't get food but the small tea bar was perfectly adequate.
No need for police and if there were stewards I didn't notice them.
Well none really but what can you expect midweek in November!
