It was one of my first away grounds I went to with my dad and it's one I will never forget. Too many clubs are forgetting the side of football that we all love to watch as fans. From the painted black wall they called a toilet, how many new grounds can boast green urinals? Such a great place it will be in my memory long after the meomory of places like The Reebok or many of the carbon copy new grounds.
Was so long ago I cannot remember.
Seats? Who needs seats. A good old fashioned terrace is what grounds need no stantions to block the view. Open to the elements with only other fans and a Bovril for warmth.
Not the most private. And I could be wrong but you may have been able to watch the game while releaving the half time Bovril. If I am right the designer was a genius and a true football fan.
At my age then all the food was a bargain as my old man paid for it all!
How many grounds can you follow the game and choose which end to stand? I remember fans having friendly banter with us one half and the other half all the way down the other end. All seemed a great bunch with no trouble.
