I visited Rainworth to watch a Northern Counties East League Premier Division match versus Handsworth Parramore. Rainworth had previously played in the Northern Premier league, one step up
The ground is visible from the A617- Rainworth bypass, although access is from the B road which runs through the village. The nearest station is in Mansfield about 5 miles away. There is no car park at the ground with most visitors parking on the local roads. Rainworth has limited facilities, with one pub (Sherwood Arms) a few hundred yards from the ground plus a fish and chip shop
Entry to the ground is in the southwest corner with the clubhouse immediately to the right as you enter. The main stand (with about 100 seats) is on the left hand side of the pitch and it straddles the halfway line. The far side of the pitch has a covered terrace. The southeast corner of the ground is a grass bank at the bottom of which are about 50 plastic seats open to the elements.
Toilets are at the rear of the clubhouse. A small range of cub souvenirs are sold from the tea bar inside the clubhouse
Usual fayre on sale n the clubhouse at reasonable prices.
Crowd for the game was 116. By far the most noise came from the visiting fans who are near the top of the league. Rainworth are not having a good start to the season, reflected by the 0-4 scoreline and their fans remained pretty much sient throughout
