"Bedfont and Feltham FC - The Orchard"

Bedfont and Feltham FC currently play in the Combined Counties Premier Division (season 16/17) and my visit was to see them take on Colliers Wood United. The ground was the home of the now defunct Bedfont FC before the current tennants were formed at the turn of the century

Location

The Orchard is about 5 minutes walk from Hatton Cross tube station on the south east corner of Heathrow Airport (in fact aircraft on final approach pass very close to the ground). To get to the ground turn south off the A30 at the Hatton Cross traffic lights and then take the first right into Hatton Road. The ground is about 600 yds on the left and is next to Bedfont Sports FC. The Duke of Wellington pub is directly opposite the ground and a further pub - The Green Man - is back towards Hatton Cross.

The ground itself looks as if it may have seen better days. Entrance is off Hatton Road on the north side of the ground, through a single turnstile. There are stands on either side of the pitch, both straddling the half way line. Between them these seat approx 150 people and the seats are well elevated above the pitch. The rest of the pitch is surrounded by a concrete path.

Facilities

There are toilets in the clubhouse (which is back through the turnstiles) although there are others in a seperate building beyond the changing rooms. These are dark and have no hot water.

There is no club shop although the snack bar does sell a limited selection of club merchandise

Food & Drink

The snack bar is just inside the turnstiles and serves the normal range of hot drinks and food

Atmosphere

The crowd for my visit was only 32 and I suspect that this is pretty much the average crowd for the club. Because of this there was little in the way of atmoshere
