Visited Poltair ark for the SWPFL Premier division match between AFC St Austell and Ivybridge Town. St Austell are one of the 'big' teams in this league with average gates of 240+ which is very impressive for a Step 6 team. Gate for this Tuesday night game was 156.
Poltair Park is located just to the north of St Austell town centre, the other side of the railway lines and, very conveniently, next door to the St Austell Brewery. This mean that the ground is very good for transport links (they also have an on site car park). The proximity to the town means that places for eating and drinking are not in short supply
Three sides of the ground are uncovered, with no terracing. The fourth houses the main stand which has seating for about 100, raised high above the pitch. The clubhouse is located behind the stand whilst either side has a concrete path for spectators
Toilets are inside the clubhouse. The bar and the tea bar both sell a small selection of club memorabilia. The programme for the match included a colour document, containing reviews of the previous sesaon and used for each game in the season, plus a paper insert containing approx 12 pages dedicated to this match.
Standard fayre
Pretty good for Step 6...probably the best atmosphere and noisiest crowd at this level I have seen across England
