Visited here on a January Saturday afternoon to see Chatham Town play league new boys Dorking Wanderers. Newish ground, pretty good facilities for an Isthmian 1 South side. There are some places in the Isthmian Premier worse than this. The ground has certainly got potential to be used at a higher standard...now they just need the team to match
The ground is about 20 mins walk from Chatham town centre (and station)...and it's uphill all the way. However there is a reasonable sized car park on site and the ground is next to a main road out of town.
Chatham has covered accomodation on three sides of the pitch. The ground is dominated by the new stand behind the goal at the Maidstone Road end. This houses the clubhouse, tea bar, changing rooms and toilets and is a standing terrace. On the south side (uphill) is a large stand which has bench seating (not individual seats), whilst the North (downhill) side has a smaller stand with individual seats. Plenty of seating overall and the view is good everywhere
Only found toilets in the clubhouse and the main stand. Modern and clean. There is a small club shop (partially under construction) near the turnstiles which sold a small range of stuff. All in all, the ground is only about 25 years old with the main stand much newer, so it's all pretty clean and tidy and well catered
Didn't partake
A few stewards wandering around having a chat
You don't get too many grounds in the Isthmian that are big on atmosphere and with crowds of about 120, Chatham isn't Anfield by any means. No singing from the home fans, but the team is struggling. They were a friendly bunch, but most places are non-league
