"Inverurie Loco Works FC - Harlaw Park"

has rated Harlaw Park 3.0 out of 5.

johnwickenden's review of Harlaw Park

I visited on Saturday 7th January 2017 to see a mid-table Locos side take on high flying Brora Rangers in my first Highland Football League Match. I guess the Highland League, status wise is probably equivalent to the Conference North or South, possible Conference National. Inverurie, whilst a tremendously friendly club, don\'t have a ground which matches up to the standards of some of the top non-league clubs south of the border..

Location

The ground is located in the north part of Inverurie, in the industrial estate. It is about a 15 minute walk from Inverurie Station (which is one the Aberdeen to Inverness line) and there is plenty of street parking around the ground. Next door to Harlaw Park is the ground used by Scottish Junior side Colony Park - a ground surrounded by a regular wire fence. If CP are at home on the same day as ILW you can often see the first half of their games too.

View

Both ends of the ground have no cover nor terracing. On the left side of the touchline (from the turnstiles) is the Main stand which has approx 200 seats and gives a raised view of the pitch. The opposite side has a covered terrace straddling the halfway line. This is known as the Foxlane side and is home to the more vociferous locos supporters.

Facilities

There are toilets in the club house and next to the club shop which is just inside the Foxlane side turnstiles

Food & Drink

Bar in the clubhouse and a refreshment stall on the Foxlane side. It sold a variety of hotdrinks, chips and scotch pies

Police & Stewards

unobtrusive

Atmosphere

The crowd appeared to be in the region of about 500 - possibly swollen by a few Aberdeen fans during the winter break. There was a good atmosphere throughout the match and the Locos have not one but three drummers !
