Fakenham Town currently play in the Thurlow Nunn Eastern Counties Premier Division and my visit coincided with a Friday night local derby against Swaffham Town. The ground is fairly modern by ECL standards and well appointed.
The ground is located on the eastern outskirts of the town close to both the A148 and A1067. It is directly opposite Morrisons supermarket and about 100m from a Marstons pub, the Running Horse. The ground itself has a large car park on site. There is no rail link to the town, with the nearest stations being in either Norwich or Kings Lynn.
The ground has covered accomodation on three sides, the exception being the clubhouse side. Directly opposite the clubhouse is the Main Stand which has seating for about 200 spectators. Behind either goal are areas of covered terracing.
There are plenty of modern toilets in the clubhouse. No club shop but, as is normal in this level, badges scarves etc are available at the bar
Hot food and drink were available from a stall outside th clubhouse and alcoholic drinks etc are on sale inside
This was a crucial local derby with the home side struggling above the relegation zone and their rivals rock bottom. Because of the local nature of the clash and the match being on Friday night it attracted a crowd of well over 150. There was more than the usual amount of banter at Step 5 and the atmosphere was pretty good
