I love Millwall but considering the age of our ground it leaves a lot to be desired. It is largely clean and as accessible as any ground in London.
However in places, it lacks. It is less than comfortable with wretched small seats and next to no leg room. The food isn't anything like what you get at some grounds, the alcohol is horrible and security can be slightly over the top.
In terms of access, it's easy enough, one stop on the overground from London Bridge (South Bermondsey) but a 15-20 minute walk from the nearest tube (Canada Water). Parking is readily available in roads local to the ground. Whilst I have personally never had a problem I have been aware that cars have been broken into on the local estates during games. You also need to be prepared to queue on surrounding roads as the ground is located very close to central London.
No leg room. Uncomfortable, less than robust plastic seats. But a good view from any seat.
Plenty of toilets but regularly used for smoking at HT given the new rules and regs at grounds.
Service is poor, unfriendly and slow. There is a wide range, but expensively priced. Normally satisfactory in terms of taste but hardly top cuisine. Carlsberg in plastic bottles literally makes me wretch but the cider is tasty.
No one will deny these guys have a tough job down at the Den. It is however rare to see any fan on fan violence nowadays which has to be a testament to the job that they do. They can however be a little heavy handed and 18-40 year old men should expect to be searched on entering the ground, even in the family enclosure.
4 even big stands keep a lot of noise in and when the team play well, it can be electric. Sadly, at League 1 level it i all too often less than half full and woefully quiet. Still nice to here a good bit of Milllllllllllllllll..... from the boys in the Cold Blow Lane end.
