"Very annoying stewards"

I saw a very good 2-2 draw at Edgeley Park on a thankfully dry February day. We were however in a seated end with no roof. We were repeatedly told to sit down but I'm afraid that was slightly out of the question owing to having paid about £50 to get there and buy my ticket and the people in front of me were still stood up. I hadn't paid £50 to watch a man's backside. Eventually after half an hour of trying the stewards called in police who promptly arrested a man for "swearing at a police officer" when he told him to "go to hell"! Last time I checked hell wasn't a swear word but maybe it is in Manchester?
The seats themselves weren't up to much and there was little to no atmosphere despite an exciting game and a good turnout from both sets of fans.

Location

Relatively local to the train station and there seemed to be plenty of local parking although I took the train so couldn't be sure. Also local to plenty of pubs. The members club next to the away end was very nice, if not a little "old mannish" as were the other pubs I visited on the high street.

View

Away fans are completely exposed to all elements and given flimsy, plastic, vastly overused seats which they MUST sit on. Right by the pitch though so no worries about the view.

Facilities

Dirty, groggy and very small. Not really up to scratch.

Food & Drink

Couldn't comment in the ground but locally lots of nice little pubs.

Police & Stewards

As mentioned in my main report, overly officious stewarding and policing were the main downfalls of the day.

Atmosphere

A good turnout from both sets of fans but not a great amount of noise. Fair play to the Stockport though, they were and as far as I know still are in a good deal of financial trouble and they supported their side well in terms of numbers.
