Now I dont want to start a fight or anything, and I'm not here to criticise, I am just here to tell people about my day to Boreham Wood FC.
It was the play off final between Kingstonian and Boreham wood FC; when we got to the ground there was segregation in place and we thought this is a little weird for a Ryman League game.
But we soon found out why; during the game a Boreham fan jumped onto the pitch and randomly punched our captain Francis Duku. While at full time despite winning a few of their fans decided to come over to us and try to start a fight.
It is an away day I will avoid in the future, and as I said I'm not here to criticise, I just want to tell people of my experience where I felt for my safety.
Next to the town centre, with a 15/20minute walk from the station.
I'll give a 3/5 for this; good view from behind the goal but can't see most of the other half of the pitch in the side stand because the segregation fences were in the way.
Being that it was segregated we were given a stand and half the side stand. We appeared to share the dirty toilets which one bloke was consuming drugs in!
The match was well policed and I believe that them and the stewards did well.
Speaking to a few of our other fans we apparently had alcohol taken away from us while Boreham were allowed to drink, I'm not sure on that TBH.
Horrible; Sorry to the proper Boreham Wood fans but the ones who let it down let it down for me. I couldn't care less if we lost, I am not being bitter but I honestly feared for my safety after our player got punched and then the Boreham fans came over to us after the match wanting a fight.
