"Pretty neat ground"

Hessenpokal 2019/20 - FC Bayern Alzenau 0:1 Kickers Offenbach (after extra time, 2,300 spectators)

Bayern Alzenau, despite being located in the state of Bayern play football under the "Hessischer Fußballverband", meaning they played in the Hessenliga and also participate in the Hessenpokal, the state cup of Hesse. Note that I was there as an away supporter.

Location

Located in a residential area close to a forest. Parking is quite easy to find but when Kickers Offenbach, a local rival, are in the house you are directed to an alternative car park. We had to walk for around 30 minutes from there to the Stadium.
There is a train connection, just pretty far away.
Away supporters have to partially navigate through the muddy forest to get to their section.

After Alzenau's promotion to the Regionalliga Südwest, they built a small stand on one end of the pitch, making this the away section were we stood. As usual in German grounds, you get a ball net that slightly abstructs the view.
From both the main stand and the far stand, you get a clear and unobstructed view of the pitch.

Facilities

The ground was absolutely packed. There was not enough space on the terraces so people just stood in front of it. This resulted in the expected mess when it comes to waiting times in front of the few toilets and food stalls.

Food & Drink

Food and drinks were reasonably priced. Bratwursts were fresh from the BBQ. Apart from that, you got your usual selection of beer and sodas. Nothing special though.

Police & Stewards

As with every Kickers Offenbach away game, police presence was enormous. Fortunately, they kept to themselves and were pretty chilled.
The stewards on the other hand were visibly overwhelmed by the amount of away supporters (around 2,000). We had to wait for 10 minutes just to get into the stadium. Theys also were not very friendly and checked everyone thoroughly.

Atmosphere

Because of the derby character of the game and the amount of vocal away supporters, athmosphere was pretty good. Especially after two Bayern Alzenau send-offs (one of which was fan rival Robert Schick die Sau) and the 102nd minute goal by the away team.
Do however take into acccount that Kickers Offenbach only visit once (or twice) a year and most other games lack any sort of atmosphere.
