On a pleasant Friday evening in July, Cardiff played Taff's Well in a pre season friendly at Rhiw Dda'r. Nearly 3000 crammed in to the tiny Ground to witness a Monumental 1-0 win for the Bluebirds. We missed the goals because of ineptitude on the part of Arriva Trains Wales. As you would imagine, the vast majority of the support were Cardiff (this being closer than a home game for a lot of people) and the atmosphere was very much muted. We were essentially watching a training session, but at least a lot of money was raised for charity.
10 minutes walk through an industrial estate from the station, so easy to get to. A liberal of leylandias separate the ground from the A470 so there is the constant hum of traffic, but you get used to it after a while. It's a Leafy, green suburban Ground with two small stands and a tiny clubhouse / changing room block.
Poor, but only because we arrived late and couldn't get to the perimeter. If ever there's less than 3000 people at rhiw ddar, you'll probably be fine.
Portaloos and plastic urinals.
A large temporary burger van. Burgers were 6 quid. Which is outrageous but they were good. Chips were standard chips and they were out of chicken strips. Didn't try getting Beer in clubhouse as it was rimmed. Would recommend Fagins ale and chop house Round the corner though.
