As the dust finally settled on Christmas and New Year, I braved Storm Eleanor and headed north to Bala to watch a re-arranged WPL game with TNS. Bala is a friendly place surrounded by jaw dropping scenery. Maybe, just maybe January 2nd isn't the best time to visit though. The weather was diabolical, not great conditions to be playing football in. However, Bala's 4G pitch meant the game went ahead as planned.
Right in the centre of town, near the White Lion Royal hotel where I stayed. A Brains pub which is a long way from home! Also had an excellent pint of Cwrw Coch in Pla-Yn-Dre further up the high street.
Two stands, one small covered terrace behind the goal and a long covered seating area alongside the pitch. All feels fairly new, so quite comfortable.
Small toilets. Quite busy at half time.
Tea, coffee, burgers and chocolate bars. Not a lot of choice. Didn't try a burger as I'd already had a curry.
Both sets of fans tried but the extreme weather conditions didn't help. The quality of football was awful, such is the problem with the plastic pitch. If this was on grass the game would have been called off.
Everyone was wet and miserable. Except the handful of TNS fans who made the trip I suppose.
