Where better to spend a sunny bank holiday Friday than watching under 23s football at an Athletic stadium? Pub garden probably, but I'm here now.
Excellent if you're driving as it's right next to the bypass. It's a long walk from town, but there's plenty of pubs on the way (if you go through Canton). Ninian Park station is a short walk away and there are plenty of buses.
It's comfortable and clean and still feels new (8 years old at the time of writing), but it is an athletics Stadium and you are a long way from the pitch. You are allowed to walk around the perimeter though.
It's a state of the art athletics Stadium. Toilets are excellent.
Poor. There is a cafe but it was shut. I had a snickers and a coffee from a vending machine. There is a McDonald's and a KFC over the road, which you could nip off to at half time I suppose.
No cops, but plenty of friendly stewards handing out team sheets.
Er, no. Not at Friday afternoon U23 games. Just polite clapping.
