grifftinfoilhat has rated Bush Park 3.5 out of 5.
Up in the Newbridge heights, as the roads narrow and houses thin out lies Bush Park, the home of Treowen Stars. A small car park serves a tidy clubhouse and a stone Jacobs ladder that leads up to the pitch. A small stand with decent seats sits along the half way line with the away dugout tacked on to one end. The home side just sit in the stand. Terrible view, but you're up close and personal with the management teams. When I went, the ref came round asking everyone if they could run the line because of an absent linesman. A small "refreshments" hut is staffed by an uninterested lad who also takes your £4 admission and gives you a free program. Friendly folk in general though and a fabulous clubhouse. I had fun despite the rain.
It's a steep climb out of Newbridge on narrow roads. Early arrivals are rewarded with parking, but there's plenty on the streets below. It wouldn't be too far to Newbridge Station, but steep.
Poor from the stand. Pillars and substitutes block the entire end of the pitch. Rest of the ground is fine.
Toilets are fine, but in the clubhouse so up and down those steps. Long Way from the stands.
£3.80 for Beavertown Neck Oil in the clubhouse. Card taken. Wish I hadn't taken the car. Food is poor, just crisps and chocolate bars. Coffee for £1 from Refreshments lad though.
