geohay has rated Portman Road 4.0 out of 5.
Really unique old ground, which are on the decline! Enjoyed my day out! (Probably more because we won 3-0!)
Decent location! Average facilities! Quiet home fans
Close to train station and lots of parking within walking distance of the ground. Ipswich itself is a bit of a ballache to get to though! A very long boring ground
Away fans are located in one of the older stands along the side of the pitch. Not much leg room, but luckily for me (6'3") Wednesday fans stood up the whole game. I sampled the poor leg room at HT!
Decent view of the pitch from where I was.
Decent sized loos. Nice old turnstyles too.
The age of the stadium adds to its appeal.
I didn't sample the food, but my mate went for something at HT and there was very little of anything left. This usually happens at most grounds when we visit though.
No problems where I was sat. One minor scuffle with stewards, but too far away to see what happened. Drunken Wednesday fan probably. Seemed to be dealt with quickly and efficiently.
Good acoustics around the ever singing Wednesday fans.
Very poor from Ipswich. Never been to a game when I didn't hear at least one song from the home end!! Very quiet!
People all seemed friendly around the ground though.
